ROOF LANTERNS & FLAT ROOFLIGHTS
Pour daylight into any room from above.
A roof lantern or flat rooflight transforms how a space feels — kitchens get sunlight, extensions feel like a proper room, and dark corners stop being dark.

LANTERN OR ROOFLIGHT?
Two ways to bring daylight in from above.
Both let light flood in from overhead — they just do it with different aesthetics. Here's how to pick.
ROOF LANTERNS
Pitched, faceted, full of light.
The architectural feature option.
A lantern sits proudly on top of a flat-roof extension as a multi-faceted glass pyramid. They're the room's statement piece — you see them from the outside as a feature, and from inside they catch sky from every angle, giving a much more dramatic light effect than a flat rooflight.
Best for - kitchen extensions, dining rooms, anywhere you want light *and* a feature.

FLAT ROOFLIGHTS
Clean lines, minimal profile.
The contemporary look.
A flat rooflight is a single sheet of glass set flush within the roof — invisible from inside the room itself (no frame in your eyeline), and barely noticeable from outside. The right choice for modern, architect-designed extensions where the design language is about clean horizontal planes.
Best for — modern extensions, contemporary builds, anywhere you want maximum light with minimal visual fuss.

SHEERLINE S1 ROOFLIGHT
The UK's most secure roof lantern.
The Sheerline S1 is what we fit for almost every lantern installation — a well engineered piece of kit that sets itself apart on security, thermal performance, and aesthetics. If you'd rather have a Korniche lantern instead, we install those too — see the brochures below or just ask.
Ultra Sleek
Ultra low-line aesthetics — rafter and hip top caps sit close to the glazing level on the exterior. A sleek modern profile, not a chunky old-style lantern.
Aluminium Frames
Made from quality aluminium for superb weather resistance and thermal retention. Low maintenance, decades of service, and consistently good-looking.
Thermlock® Technology
Innovative multi-chamber technology keeps the room well insulated against UK weather. A unique co-extruded perimeter seal stops draughts and rain.
Engineered Strength
The strongest and stiffest lantern on the market — supports more glass without needing extra rafters, so more sky comes through the same opening.
Secure
Anti-tamper screws, enclosed anti-tamper glazing, security tape, a patent-pending glass lock and a unique high-security ridge end. No easy way in via the roof.
Self Cleaning Glass
Optional self-cleaning coating breaks down dirt using the sun's UV rays — washed away by rainfall. Especially useful for lanterns where reaching the glass means a ladder.
OPTIONAL UPGRADE

Secure by Design — extra peace of mind.
A roof lantern over an extension is a small but real security consideration — they sit out of view from the street, and a determined intruder will try the roof if the doors and windows are tight. The Sheerline S1 is already the most secure lantern you can buy, but if you want belt-and-braces, the Secure by Design upgrade adds another layer of defence.
Worth specifying if your extension overlooks a back garden, alley or footpath that an opportunist could use without being seen.
Additional security clamping plates lock laminated glass panels in place
Glass panels can't be lifted or removed from the outside
Engineered to withstand opportunist break-in attempts
